The Center for World University Rankings (CWUR), based in Saudi Arabia, recently presented this year's edition of its ranking of the best universities in the world. The UAB ranks 152 and occupies second place among Spanish universities, behind the University of Barcelona which ranks 87.

The ranking is led by Harvard University in first place, with Stanford and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) occupying second and third place. All three universities are located in the USA.

This year's ranking places the UAB in position 131 in research production; 153 in quality of faculty members; 135 in quality of scientific publications; 206 in influence of research papers; and 187 in number of citations; with a global score of 79.6 points.
