Director of the Parc de Recerca UAB Francisco Javier Lafuente and Director of the Barcelona Synchrotron Park Pere Solà signed a collaboration agreement to boost the levels of R&D&I conducted among local companies and foster stronger ties between academic and research staff and the business world.

Among the specific activities to be conducted will be receiving support from the Barcelona Synchrotron Park for the Generation of Ideas Programme, which is organised yearly by PRUAB to gather techological or innovation challenges faced by businesses and other local entities and motivate researchers at the UAB campus to create projects capable of solving these problems.

Since the creation of BSP, the two institutions have worked closely together with the aim of improving the competitiveness of Catalonia's economic network and its social surroundings. The Barcelona Synchrotron Park welcomes innovative companies and offers to accompany them in their R&D&I endeavours, particularly through the PRUAB, for which, at the same time, the BSP is seen as an area of natural expansion.
