The UAB showcased its academic programmes for the 2017-2018 academic year at the Saló de l'Ensenyament (22 to 26 March) and Futura (24 and 25 March). Both education fairs took place at the Montjuïc Fair venue. The UAB offered information on its undergraduate degrees at the Saló de l'Ensenyament (Hall 2) and on its postgraduate degrees at the Saló Futura (Hall 5). New programmes this year include a new degree in Management of Smart and Sustainable Cities - Smart Cities, and double degrees in Biology, Microbiology and Chemistry which will be offered in collaboration with a Canadian university.

Smart Cities and Double Degrees with Canada

The main novelty this 2017-2018 academic year is the new degree in Management of Smart and Sustainable Cities - Smart Cities, which will be offered at the School of Engineering and will provide students with the training needed to be able to understand, manage and contribute to the governing of new urban realities appearing thanks to profound economic, social and technological transformations associated with globalisation. Students will receive training in different disciplines, with a main focus on engineering, urban geography and geographic data and information.

The UAB will also offer two new international double degrees: it has reached an agreement with Canada's Thompson Rivers University (TRU) for UAB students to study part of their degree in Canada and vice versa, and obtaining both a diploma from the UAB and from TRU. This agreement affects students of the degrees in Biology, Microbiology and Chemistry. In the case of Chemistry, students will earn an undergraduate diploma from the UAB and a Bachelor of Science, Major in Chemistry diploma from TRU. In Biosciences, students will earn a bachelor's degree in Microbiology or Biology from the UAB and a Bachelor in Sciences, with a Major in Cellular, Molecular and Microbial Biology, from the TRU.
