The UAB to offer two new minors this 2018/19 academic year

This next academic year, the UAB will offer two new minors, one in entrepreneurship and social innovation, and another in Latin American studies. During the 2018/19 academic year, students will also be able to enrol in these minors. Registration now open.

During the 2018/19 academic year, students will also be able to enrol in these minors.

A minor is a university itinerary organised by a UAB centre, addressed to students aiming to acquire knowledge in an area different from their bachelor's degree, by taking subjects from another degree.

If all subjects in the minor itinerary are passed, students are issued a European Diploma Supplement (EDS) once they complete their degree. The credits of the minor will also go towards the total of credits needed to obtain the bachelor's degree and be considered optional credits included in the study plan of the degree.

The minors offered by the UAB allow students to receive a more specialised and international training, acquiring more skills for their professional future. The two new minors are:

Minor in Entrepreneurship and Social Innovation

The Minor in Entrepreneurship and Social Innovation offers 15 places for the 2018/19 academic year and is addressed to all UAB students who have completed at least 90 degree credits and are interested in complementing their basic training with notions of entrepreneurship and the creation and management of innovative projects in the social sector. Lectures will be given at the Faculty of Economics and Business Studies.

The study plan includes 10 subjects, each of which is worth 6 credits. To be recognised, students must complete a minimum of 5 subjects of the minor. Registrations can be made from 4 to 25 June through this online form.
Minor in Lastin American Studies

The Minor in Latin American Studies offers 25 places for the 2018/19 academic year and is addressed to all UAB students who have completed at least 60 credits of their degree and are interested in acquiring interdisciplinary knowledge the history of Latin America since the Pre-Columbian period up until modern days. The minor analyses the greatest sociolinguistic, literary and artistic issues with subjects offered by experts in each of the areas. Lectures will be given at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities.

The study plan includes 9 subjects worth 6 credits each. Students need to complete at least 5 subjects in order to have the minor included in their diploma. All those interested in enrolling can sign up from 4 to 29 June through the programme's website.
