Teacher training courses for English teachers

Due to the successful teacher training courses last year, we offer new editions aimed at in-service English teachers, with a total of 20 hours and certified by UAB Languages Barcelona. Two courses are offered:

/saʊnd ədˈvaɪs/: Brush up on your pron teaching  on how to integrate pronunciation effectively into lessons and courses

• Introduction to English phonology – vowels, consonants, stress and rhythm, connected speech, intonation
• Teaching pronunciation – using techniques and activities to help learners discover how features of pronunciation work, and to help learners with listening and speaking
• Using supportive teaching models to integrate pronunciation effectively into lessons and course

Monday 2nd to Friday 6th July 2018, from 3 to 5 pm and 5.30 to 7.30 pm.
Monday 17th to Friday 21st September 2018, from 3 to 5 pm and 5.30 to 7.30 pm.
  
Taking Aim: Zeroing in on a great lesson! on how to create effective lessons to suit your students' needs. It will cover different topics such as, for example:

• Establishing effective aims – highlighting learning goals 
• Using needs analyses to design lessons to cater for students’ needs
• One-to-one teaching – personalised lessons 
• Creating a variety of lesson types – allowing for flexibility
• Planning from the heart – working towards and supporting the communicative heart of the lesson

Monday 9th to Friday 13th July 2018, from 3 to 5 pm and 5.30 to 7.30 pm.
 
The workshops will be presented by UAB Languages English teacher, teacher trainer and author Mark McKinnon.
