The Observatory for Equality has designed trainings aimed at strengthening the gender perspective in teaching, research and communications at UAB, following the implementation of the Third Action Plan for Equality between women and men at UAB and within the framework of the EGERA project —Effective Gender Equality in Research and the Academia.

The following courses have been designed and are offered for professors:

-“Gender Perspective and Dimension in our research. Horizon 2020”, taught by M. Jesús Izquierdo and Maribel Ponferrada. The course will take place on 28 and 30 June. Its objective is to integrate the ability to include the gender perspective and dimension in accordance to recommendations by the Horizon Programme 2020.

-“How to include the gender perspective in teaching”, also taught by M. Jesús Izquierdo, provides the necessary knowledge to review subjects from a gender perspective and to specify it in teaching guides. It will be held on 12-13 July.

-“Gender sensitive Communications and mainstreaming non-sexist language”, taught by professor Isabel Muntané Rodríguez, coordinator of the Master in Gender and Communications. The course will take place on 20-21 June.

Administration and services staff can also benefit from these trainings on gender perspective. On last 8 and 10 May, Maribel Ponferrada, researcher of the EGERA project, gave the course “Gender dimension in research. Horizon 2020” to technical and management staff who collaborate in research.

Isabel Montané will be responsable for two sessions of the course “Gender sensitive Communications and mainstreaming non-sexist Language” aimed at PAS on 29, 31 May and 26 and 28 June. Both courses are available through the PAS Training Unit.

Finally, the Observatory and the EGERA project have also designed a transversal training session for PhD students on “Gender perspective in research” to be held on 16 May at the Doctorate School.

Teaching staff can enrol to these training courses at the Office for Teaching Quality of UAB.
