The growing complexity of the Health Sciences and the challenge posed by advances in several diagnosis and therapeutic fields explored by biomedicine make clinical research an essential part of the training of future doctors and other health professionals. For this reason, the objective of the Master's Degree in Applied Clinical Research in Health Sciences is to train professionals with a critical reasoning prepared to manage and conduct research projects related to their clinical practice, while at the same time having the capacity to adequately evaluate the knowledge being generated.

A knowledge which is neither pure nor absolute, and which therefore is in need of scientific methods in order to be constantly refined, and overcome the dangers of being disvirtued or manipulated. There is a need for improvements in applied research, rather than a greater amount of research, to make the health sector even better.

If you are interested in delving into this field and at the same time discover a wide range of professionals, projects and initiatives already working on these improvements, then this master's degree is for you!

Career options

The main objective of this master's degree is to provide health professionals with the capacity to combine their professional tasks with research activities, with the aim of finding solutions to existing clinical and health problems, and thus contribute to an improvement in the health of patients. At the same time, those interested in devoting themselves fully to applied research will find that the master's degree represents the first necessary step in discovering the applications and experiments conducted in several fields. This enables them to opt for research and support technician posts in all types of centres and institutes. Graduates can also consider continuing on to a PhD programme, which undoubtedly also favours the acquiring of more knowledge and skills.
