Access

Access to this master's degree is open to holders of an official bachelor's degree from a Spanish university or from another higher education institution within or outside the European Higher Education Area, provided this gives access to postgraduate studies in the country of issue.

Admission requirements

Access to this master's degree is open to those in possession of an official Spanish university degree or one from a higher education institution belonging to a member state of the European Higher Education Area or to other countries, which qualifies the holder to join master's programmes.

Admission requirements are as follows:
  • Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences, Information Sciences, or Social Communication.
  • Other bachelor's degrees in Social Sciences. Degrees in other subjects will also be given consideration.
  • Bachelor's degrees from universities in Europe and other countries in subjects related to those specified above.
  • English level B2.1 of the Council of Europe's Common European Framework of Reference for Languages
Admission will be granted on the basis of candidates' talent and merits.

Selection criteria

Should the number of applicants be higher than that of places on offer, these will be allocated according to the following criteria.

Criteria:

The master's committee will allocate up to 100 points for the following, in order of importance:
  • 1. Bachelor's degree and academic transcript. (up to 40 points)
  • 2. Other postgraduate qualifications and corresponding academic transcript. (up to 15 points)
  • 3. Two reference letters from university lecturers, researchers or (exceptionally), other professionals who know the candidates and have taken part in their training.    (up to 10 points)
  • 4. Motivation letter. (up to 10 points)
  • 5. Additional academic activities: courses, seminars, conferences, publications and academic communications. (up to 10 points)
  • 6. Professional experience related to the contents of the master's degree. (up to 10 points)
  • 7. Good knowledge of English and other languages. (up to 5 points)
On examination of candidates' documents, the master's committee will select those with the best chances of success on the programme and in subsequent careers leading on from it.

Exceptionally, in case of inconclusive information, candidates may be asked to attend an interview.
