Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
The Bachelor's Degree in Nursing trains up general-practice nurses, who have the appropriate scientific and human qualities to be able to identify, assess and prioritise needs, care for persons, families, groups and the community, and evaluate their condition.
Its graduates are able to provide strategies for health promotion and prevention of diseases, and to assist in prevention or recovery from illness, or in maintaining dignity in death. Within the health system, nursing professionals share tasks with other health professionals in terms of planning, organisation, management and assessment of the health system.
The UAB Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is taught at the Faculty of Medicine: during the first two years at the Teaching Unit of Basic Medical Sciences in Bellaterra, and during the last two years at the Teaching Unit of Vall d'Hebron University Hospital, Barcelona. This degree has a long teaching tradition and close ties with the Vall d'Hebron University Hospital, one of the biggest in Spain in terms of healthcare provision, teaching and scientific production. The degree also has ties with Germans Trias i Pujol University Hospital, with a long tradition in healthcare provision, teaching and research. In addition, there are collaborations in place with primary care and health and social welfare centres that are of high quality and offer a wide range of services.
The Bachelor's Degree in Nursing offers an opportunity to delve more deeply into specific areas through its specialisations in Early Childhood and Health, Old Age and Health, Health and the Community, and Lifelong Mental Health, which are recorded in the European Diploma Supplement.
Those wishing to take this course must have a capacity for interpersonal relations and teamwork, the ability to listen, adapt to surroundings and show responsibility and dedication. They must also be capable of solving problems, making decisions and learning independently, must show respect for those with different values and cultures, and must be committed to the health and welfare of persons, families and groups.

Teaching staff list
In line with the degree's focus on competences and the use of different teaching and learning strategies, the assessment procedures adopted vary accordingly.
