Bachelor's Degree in Electronic Engineering for Telecommunication

Presentation

Starting in the 2016-2017 academic year, Telecommunication Systems Engineering and Electronic Engineering for Telecommunications will be offered together. In the first two years students will follow the same syllabus and, starting in the third year, each one will take the specific subjects belonging to their degree.

The Bachelor's Degree in Electronic Engineering for Telecommunication aims to equip future professionals to design the different modules of telecommunication systems (aerials, filters, amplifiers, signal transmission and processing), focusing on their electronic components (machinery). The degree allows its holders to work in telephone systems in general, satellite communications, instrument systems and electronic design in general.

Telecommunications Engineering includes the design, implementation and management of systems in charge of transmitting and receiving all types of information, by electromagnetic wave radiation, by light pulses through optical fibres or by sound wave emissions.

Telecommunications Engineering studies at the UAB qualify graduates to join any of the officially-regulated telecommunications  engineering professions.

The degrees are taught using modern methodologies with the double aim of enhancing students' performance and helping them to enter the job market.

Close ties with technological centres of great international prestige and with leading ICT companies contribute to the high standards of teaching and boost the employability of UAB graduates in Telecommunications. 

Student Profile

The ideal student for this course should have the following qualities:

  • Able to work in an organised manner.

Solid grounding in mathematics, physics and electrotechnology. Students should have taken these subjects in their previous studies and should have a good level of English.
