Philosophy collection of Kurt Hübner

Description of the collection:
Kurt Hübner was born on September 1, 1921, in Prague and died on February 8, 2013, in Kiel. He was Professor of Philosophy at the Universities of Berlin and Kiel and he was interested in different philosophical fields, such as myth, philosophy of religion, art theory, music theory and philosophy of science. Among his numerous publications we should mention his book Kritik der Wissenschaftlichen Vernunft, where Hübner developed his theory of science; the work has been translated into Spanish, with the title Crítica de la razón científica. Hübner was president of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Philosophie from 1969 to 1975.

In 2014 his family donated his personal library to the Humanities Library, on the initiative of professors Alexander Fidora (Department of Antiquity and Middle Ages Studies), Thomas Sturm (Department of Philosophy) and Matthias M. Tischler (Institute of Medieval Studies), with the collaboration of the Department of Antiquity and Middle Ages Studies, the Department of Philosophy and FFI 2011-23545 MICINN project, (led by ICREA Professor A. Fidora), in additon to the Humanities Library.
