The Library offers a laptop lending service, whereby laptops can be borrowed for four-hour periods (which can be extended once for a two-hour period). The use of the laptops is restricted to within the library premises.
You can borrow them on the main floor desk with your UAB card. The first time you borrow a laptop from the library you will be asked to sign the Terms & Conditions for borrowing a laptop, which entitles you to this service provided you are a UAB's university community member.
To have access this service, you must have a validated UAB library card.
The installed software includes the Windows operating system, Microsoft Office and various web browsers and media players. The laptops are also wireless enabled.
Laptops are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and may not be reserved in advance. Users who do not return laptops within the 4-hour limit will be fined 1 loan day per hour or fraction thereof.
At the end of the page, you will find a link to the both the Laptop lending policy at the Library and the wireless network available.
