The memory of journalists
The Library dedicates its new exhibition to the memoirs written by journalists and other authors who have had an outstanding journalistic work. You can visit the exhibition, of about fifty books, at the ground floor of the building, from May 24.
Many journalists have wanted to leave in writing the story of their experiences. Perhaps their profession has given them a life full of events, worthy of being remembered. Perhaps they have lived in interesting times, they have witnessed periods of upheaval –war, exile, dictatorship, transition. Perhaps the curious mood and the critical spirit that every good journalist is supposed to have led them to reflect on their profession, the media where they have worked and their country, from the perspective of the years. Or perhaps they want to bequeath to the younger generations their experience, their principles, their vision of the world.
For the selection of the material we have had the advice of professor Josep Maria Figueres, of the Department of Journalism and Communication Studies UAB, to whom we express our gratitude.
