1. Who has access to the digital library? 

  • All active members of the University have access to the digital library: students, PDI and PAS. 

2. Which are the terms of use of digital library?  

  • The digital library resources should be used only for academic purposes and its use is not allowed for profit-making purposes or other activities holding no relation with the University. It is your responsibility to respect the conditions of each one of the resources

3. How can I access the digital library from the campus? 

  • You can access the digital library from any computer located in the campus (offices, computer labs or libraries) that has an Internet connection.
    From laptops or mobile devices you can access the digital library if you connect to the wifi network of UAB. To achieve a better quality wifi we recommend you to set up eduroam on your devices. 

4. How do I access the digital library from off-campus? 

  • You must use the ARE (Access to Electronic Resources) service from any device with an internet connection, and after identifying with NIU and password you can navigate to the full text of the resources subscribed by the UAB.
  • To access ARE you have two options: identify and then search journals, books and databases in Trobador+ or install the ARE button on your browser and identify yourself once you are in the resource page.

5. I have no password or it does not work properly to access to ARE, what can I do?  

  • Go to the web page: Passwords management from our IT Services where you will find several options to solve the issue. If, however, you cannot manage it,  write to Pregunt@ and we will help you. 

6. With XPV, can I access the UAB digital library off campus?

  • Yes, but we recommend using ARE because there are certain incompatibilities between some resources of the digital library and the XPV settings, then the navigation or search could be limited.
  • Use the XPV only for remote access to network and computer desktop.


7. How do I find an e-book or e-journal?  

  • You can search for e-books and e-journals in our catalog and in Trobador+, where you will find a specific tab to search for e-books and e-journals. 

8. I'm having problems accessing an e-resource, what should I do?

  • If you are off-campus, make sure you are connected through ARE.
    If you are connected through the UAB network, maybe you are searching for a volume or year that we don’t have, you should check it in the button “Consulta’l” or “Consultar en línia”. It is also possible that the journal requires ID/password or it is only be available from a specific computer, check the information in the button  “Consulta’l”. 

9. How do I find articles on a particular topic?  

  • Use the keyword search or the advanced search in Trobador+ if you want to specify more search terms.
    You can also use multi-disciplinary databases or the specific ones in your topic, searching in the database tab of Trobador+

    You can also attend to regularly scheduled courses on library resources and digital databases.
