  • Time for Outrage!

    Multilingual Group Reading of Stéphane Hessel's Time for Outrage
     
    The UAB Language Service has presented a reading of Stéphane Hessel's Time for Outrage as part of the Sant Jordi activities on campus. To give greater visibility to Hessel's message, excerpts from the book were read in a number of languages such as Catalan, Spanish, Basque, English, German, Turkish, French, Italian, Norwegian, sign language and Braille. In this way, the activity provided just a small sample of the linguistic richness to be found on the UAB campus.

  • Es pot aprendre amb les xarxes socials?

    L'IDES i el GI-Xarxes Socials han organitzat aquesta jornada temàtica amb l'objectiu d'analitzar les millores que poden aportar les xarxes socials i les eines col·laboratives, tant pel que fa als resultats de l'aprenentatge o la qualitat educativa, com també pel que fa a la dimensió social de comunitat de xarxa. J. Campuzano i J.A. Martínez expliquen el projecte d'ús de les Xarxes Socials en l'àmbit educatiu. J.M. Castel  parla de l'aplicació de l'aprenentatge invisible a Facebook, Marta Miró i Montserrat Balagueró expliquen l'aplicació d'una xarxa social a l'experiència d'intercanvis lingüístic. La professora Remei Camps, experta en metodologia docent i TIC, parla de com ha anat evolucionant el concepte de l'aprenentatge virtual.

  • M. Teresa Cabré inaugurates the 2012-2013 academic year at the UAB Language Service

    M. Teresa Cabré, a philologist, professor and specialist in terminology at the UPF, has inaugurated the 2012-2013 academic year at the UAB Language Service with the inaugural lecture entitled "Terminology today: theoretical and methodological changes and refinements in Catalan terminology and terminology in general". The act included speeches by Lluís Quintana, Vice Rector for International Relations, Joan Melcion, Deputy Executive Administrator for Academic Affairs, and Montserrat Balagueró, Director of the UAB Language Service.

  • Experiences of a period spent at the Language Service.

    The Language Service has received a visit from two teachers from the language service of the University of Wroclaw, in Poland as part of the Erasmus programme from administration and services staff.
