Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona is internationally renowned for the quality and innovation in its research. As part of its efforts to consolidate scientific research, UAB offers predoctoral and postdoctoral grants in several fields. These grants are just some of the various proposals that will be available this year.

In this section you will find detailed information on the different areas and fields of research at the UAB. You can also see the grants currently being offered by the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science and the Catalan Government.

8th CALL FOR GRANTS
UAB departments open their eight call for 31 predoctoral research grants for staff in training. The trainee research staff will be incorporated in doctoral or official master's programmes offered by the UAB for the purpose of writing their doctoral theses.

Requirements
At the time of applying for a grant, candidates must be in possession of a four-year degree, an engineering or architecture degree, or an equivalent certificate valid for admission to official postgraduate courses.

Beneficiaries of the grants must enrol in one of UAB's official master's degree or doctoral programmes.

Duration and funding
The duration of the grant period is 4 years (48 months).

The amount of the grants during the first two years is ¤12,371 gross per annum, and ¤17,381 gross per annum during the last two years.

Application period
Applications must be submitted between 16 December and 12 January 2011.

The Academic Staff Committee will release its decision for a list of selected candidates and a waiting list which is published during the month of March 2011. Those who have been selected will also be informed by e-mail at the address indicated on their application forms.
