The Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona is internationally renowned for the quality and innovation in its research. As part of its efforts to consolidate scientific research, the UAB is offering predoctoral and postdoctoral grants in any field. These grants are just some of the various proposals that will be available this year.

In this section you will find detailed information on the different areas and fields of research at the UAB. You can also see the grants currently being offered by the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science and the Catalan Government.

6th CALL FOR GRANTS
UAB departments open their sixth call for 21 predoctoral research grants for staff in training. The trainee research staff will be incorporated in doctoral or official master's programmes offered by the UAB for the purpose of writing their doctoral theses.

Requirements
At the time of applying for a grant, candidates must be in possession of a four-year degree, an engineering or architecture degree, or an equivalent certificate valid for admission to official postgraduate courses.

Beneficiaries of the grants must enrol in one of UAB's official master's degree or doctoral programmes.

Duration and funding
The duration of the grant period is 4 years (48 months).

The amount of the grants during the first two years is €12,334 gross per annum, and €17,329 gross per annum during the last two years.

Application period
Applications must be submitted between 16 November and 3 December 2009.

Resolution
The definite dates are the following:

- A list of applicants accepted and those excluded for not having submitted all necessary documents will be published on 14 December 2009.
- The provisional list of selected candidates and provisional waiting list will be published on 8 February 2010.
- All final lists will be published on 19 February 2010.
