People of Girona and mathematicians.

We might think that the similarities between them end there.

But if we forget the circumstances that governed and at the same time, condition their lives, both personal and professional life, we would realize that their contribution to the scientific and intellectual in this country went beyond the work itself.

Neither Santaló or Sunyer be considered prophets in their own land because neither were linked directly to a Catalan university. However its worth and recognition of their worth were ultimately imposed internationally on merit.

This exhibition pays homage to these two mathematicians Catalans and, in turn, spread their unique scientific legacy.

This year marks the centenary of Ferran Sunyer and, among other acts, will be presented  the Selecta in the IEC and the Library will present some works and reprints selected from the Sunyer Archive by Professor Julià Cufí, Department of Mathematics,  which also made a poster with the biographical data and bibliography on his work.

With a year apart in 2011 was the centenary of Louis A. Santaló. It may also be a poster and selected bibliography by Professor Augustí Reventós, Department of Mathematics.
