For the 2005/06 academic year, the UAB began six diplomas adapted to the European Higher Education Area, to add to the eleven bachelor's degrees and three master's degrees that were launched as part of the Catalan Government's Adaptation Plan in 2004/05. These qualifications use the new teaching and learning methodology based on the European Credit Transfer System. Students completing these courses will not obtain an unofficial UAB qualification but will obtain the official diploma when they finish their course. However, they will be awarded a certificate by the Catalan Government's Quality Agency certifying that the course was taken as part of the adaptation to the EHEA.
